Reminders for GSC Members and liaison People

Letter Writing Competition : In order to fund benches for yard, we are going to write to all businesses in our area asking them to donate towards the cost (525 euro per bench). A competition will open for all children where they can write a persuasive letter asking the businesses to contribute. Ideas will be taken from the best letters and a final letter will be drafted and sent on behalf of the school. Entries to be sent to Ms. Higgins in Room 17 by Friday the 13th of March.
European Action Against Racism Competition : To mark European Action against racism week SDCC are holding a competition. You can create a slogan, write a poem or paint/draw a picture relating to the theme. We had great success at this competition last year and it is open to all students. Entries to be sent to Ms. Conlon in Room 31 by Friday the 7th of March.
Curriculum Links: Classes are doing lots of amazing work relating to our flag theme. Each teacher has a document with themes and activities linked to the flag. We need samples/photographs of this work (Photos of copy work are great too). Please email samples or send photocopies of work to [email protected] If you need a new copy of the curriculum links document ask Ms. Conlon in Room 31.
Wormery : Our wormery is very full at the moment so do not put anything into it until after St. Patrick's Day.
Energy Monitoring: Continue to remind all students about closing doors/windows, turning off lights/whiteboards when not in use and closing blinds before leaving school to retain heat every day.
