Code of Conduct for Parents/Guardians

Roles & Responsibilities of Parents/Guardians :


Parents/Guardians are expected to:


Equip pupils with appropriate school materials, warm clothes for the yard and full uniform/school tracksuit

Be courteous towards pupils, other parents and staff.

Refrain from going to their child’s class, without first checking in with the Principal or school secretary.

Bring/send and collect their children on time

.Respect school property and encourage their children to do the same.

Label pupils' coats and other property.

Supervise their young children on school premises when collecting other pupils or visiting the school.

Refrain from bringing pets onto the school premises (except on a lead).

Respect the total ban on mobile phones in the school. Emergency calls home may be made in the Secretary’s office.

Hand in to the Secretary’s office any items left at home by pupils.

Sign any STAR discipline notes sent home by teachers and inspect and sign their child’s Homework Journal every night.

Wear appropriate clothes at all times.

As the Board of Management is responsible for the Health & Safety of all students, parents are requested not to approach or reprimand another person’s child on the school premises.

As the Board of Management is responsible for the Health & Safety of all staff, parents are requested not to be abusive or reprimand any member of staff. Appointments to see any teacher or Principal can be made through the Principal or School Secretary.
