First class singing lessons and challenges with Grace from Music Generation
This year we had a special request from Music Generation! They wanted to make a video of the pupils in our school learning to play the violin. We were delighted to be asked. As you know the pupils in St. Ronan's have been learning violin for the past four years. Matt Rafter began teaching the present 6th Class when they were in 3rd Class! The orchestra was formed last year from this group. We are very proud of all our musicians, especially when we saw the wonderful video for the first time in May. Listening to some of the pupils talking about music and what it means to them highlights the value of the Music Generation programme in our school.
Our school orchestra has been invited to play in the Civic Theatre in Tallaght at a concert on Tuesday 18th June at 1pm under the direction of Sinead Finegan, who took over from Matt this year. Another great occasion for St. Ronan's. |
