A huge thank you to the parents, students and staff for making the Food Fair a massive success. We are very lucky to have such a diverse school and we take great joy in celebrating that. The children and adults, who are members of St. Ronan's Yellow Flag team, were very lucky to get invited to Áras an Uachtaráin on March 21st. We were treated like royalty from the moment we arrived and enjoyed delicious treats and cups of tea served in fine china. We were taken on a tour of the building and the grounds and we all learned some very interesting facts about the previous Presidents of Ireland and the various dignitaries who have visited Áras. Unfortunately, we did not get to meet President Higgins but we were so delighted to see his pet dog, Misneach. A wonderful day was had by all. The children representing the Yellow Flag team in St. Ronan's, along with Ms. O Hare and Miss T. Reilly attended the Awards Ceremony on March 7th. One of our children spoke so well on behalf of St. Ronan's N.S and told all in attendance about the hard work of the YF Team in our school and all we have done to renew YF status. We look forward to our celebration day very soon, where we will raise the flag for all to see!
Patrick, a member of the Traveller community, came to speak to the traveller children about the Tobar programme and his wishes to continue his education to become a Primary school children.
It was wonderful having Patrick here. St Ronan’s food festival hosted by the yellow flag team was a great success. We enjoyed the most delicious homemade sweet treats and savoury foods from countries around the world. A huge thankyou to all parents for your generosity in offering us the opportunity to sample and enjoy foods from your home countries.
Ramadan starts this week and we want to send our best wishes to all of our families taking part during this fasting time.
On Friday the 13th of January the junior and senior classes buddied up and played a variety of fun games. We had a lot of fun and we made lots of new friends.
The chairpersons for this year are Avneet, Tajwar and Ella.
The secretaries elected are Jasmine and Chelsea. Eid Mubarak to all of our families who will finish Ramadan at sundown today. We hope you all enjoy the festival of Eid al-Fitr. Be safe and well.
