Our very first school cross - country race was held in St. Cuthbert's Park on Tuesday the 28th of March. The day was dry and windy which made for a tough but enjoyable event. We had three races - 5th/6th class boys, 5th/6th class girls and 3rd/4th class boys and girls, as well as a team event. There were medals for the first three boys and girls to finish in each year level. Scores were combined for a team score. Our winning boys' team was Roscommon and our winning girls' team was Cork. Some fantastic finish times and personal bests were recorded.

Fifty children were selected from the school's cross country running squad to compete in the SDCC final of 2019 school's cross country running series. The children all competed to the best of their ability with strong persistence and stamina on display. Three members of our squad qualified for the champions race having finished first at previous race days. Competition was high and they ran with great talent on the day. Behaviour on the day was exemplary and we are very proud of our squad.
