Third class children recently participated in a Road Safety Day where they taught their parents all about how to cross the road safely. The children then worked with their parents to create a poster showing the different ways to cross a road safely. It was a great day! Thanks to all the parents for their support. Third class recently attended a production of Half Light in the Civic Theatre, Tallaght. They had an excellent day out and everyone really enjoyed the show. Here is a video where some pupils gave feedback after the show (Parents, Grandparents, Teachers, SNAs, children, everyone!) We have a Secret Project and we want your help! Please knit patches in any colour you wish. We suggest 40 stitches 40 rows but any size will work. Drop them in Ms. Hassett in room 8. Thank you! Third class have created a gratitude wall to record all the things in their lives that make them happy and improve their lives.
3rd class put on the Christmas Nativity in St. Ronan's church on Thursday 21/12/2017. The children told the Christmas story and were accompanied by the 4th class choir who sang beautiful festive hymns and carols. It has been hailed as the best one yet!
Well done to all involved. Chilren from Third, Fourth and Fifth Class performed at a music recital today. Their teacher is Matt Rafter and we were all amazed by how well they played the violin. Third Class were lucky enough to be visited by celebrity biologist; Éanna Ní Lamhna this month. She was very interesting and informative -and most importantly- great fun!
3rd class have just started learning all about the violin.
They can tell you all about the parts, the names of the strings and how to hold the instrument and the bow correctly. Please ask your child about this. A maths table quiz was held in the hall for all children from 3rd to 6th class.
Mr. Morgan, the quizmaster kept everyone entertained with some Maths jokes throughout the afternoon. Well done to all children for participating. In joint second place were the team of Loc, Vilte, Minh, Lucy G and Levi and the team of Natalie, Sebastian, Jake, Kevin and Kevin. Congratulations to Ijaz, Conor, Brian and David on taking 1st prize. For more Maths week ideas and fun log on to www.mathsweek.ie. 3rd class started Accelerated Reader. It is all new to them but they are enjoying reading the books and taking the quizzes after they have read the book. If you are a 3rd class parent, please ask your child about this.
