A group of students from fifth class along with some teachers took part in a recent Junior Park run in Griffeen Valley. This event takes place every Sunday at 9:30 a.m. Some students have been attending themselves since this and have had great success setting new personal best times.
All the children in fifth class have just completed the Marathon Kids Ireland programme, which was sponsored by S.D.C.C and Fingal County Council. Over the course of nine weeks the children ran four days each week. The distance covered increased every week and the children ran their final mile in Morton Stadium in Santry. Over the course of the programme the children ran a full 26.2 miles (marathon distance). It was a fantastic event and every child enjoyed participating. There was also a huge improvement in the fitness of all participants.
The children had a fantastic time completing St. Ronan's first Monster Mile Plus challenge in their Hallowe'en costumes.
The children in Ms. Conlon's fifth class have been learning about energy. They have been making simple, switched and series and parallel circuits.
The children in Ms. Kiernan's fifth class have been working hard. They have been completing projects about the Grand Canal, learning about fair trade, World War 1 and have been busy getting to grips with long division.
Thanks to all the children in the choir for their beautiful singing at the confirmation and during the year.
As a treat the children were brought to the village for a visit to the Round Tower Centre, McDonalds and the playground!
Fifth class have enjoyed their school tour recently as well as a trip to the Irish Aid offices. We also got to harvest potatoes from the school garden. Here is a selection of photographs to show you everything we've been up to lately!
