A huge thank you to all our SISK volunteers for the Easter eggs during the last session. Thanks also for bringing a treat to all the other classes and teachers. Time to Count' started in the Third and fourth classes today. The children had great fun playing Maths games with the wonderful volunteers from Sisk.
We celebrated World Book Day on Thursday the 2nd of March. Children took part in buddy reading sessions, designed bookmarks, book covers and wrote about their favourite characters. Children in fifth and sixth class designed their favourite characters out of potatoes. Have a look at some of the designs and activities below.
We are learning about an ancient civilisation in 3rd class. We picked the ancient Egyptians as our focus. We completed group-based projects on the topic and art based on the pharaohs. We tried to construct our version of the pyramids using play dough and spaghetti.
Congratulations to all the students in 5th and 6th class on running the final mile of their Marathon Kids challenge in St. Cuthbert's park. Over the course of 8 weeks they have built up their distance and have completed the marathon distance of 26.2 miles. Thank you to the cross country squad for stewarding their race and to the rest of the school community for cheering them on throughout the event. "Am bricfeasta" in Miss T Reilly's 3rd class.
We are learning the topic of Bia in Irish and decided a breakfast morning was well deserved for all the hard work. |
