Third class had a fantastic time visiitng a SISK site. They got to sit in some of the machinery and watch the SISK workers manouver it safely. Next, they to SISK's Vantage Site, where they learned all about the company and some of the places they have built. They were shown how a wall is built and then the children used their newly learned skills to construct some mini walls! They also got to plant some vegetables and build a bee hotel. St. Ronan's are very thankful to SISK for providing such wonderful opportunities for our students. The boys and girls from fifth and sixth class recently took part in a Gaelic football blitz organised by the Clondalkin Community Gardaí. It was a fantastic day enjoyed by all the schools involved, with pupils getting the opportunity to showcase and develop the skills they have been practising in their after-school club. We would like to say a big thank you to the Clondalkin Community Gardaí for organising such a great day. Here are some photos from the day.
Polling station for voting for Student Council. St. Ronan's Student Council 2025/2026 The Student Council set up a Bake Sale to raise funds for various things in St. Ronan's N.S. eg:: New costumes for the school plays.
The Bake Sale was a massive success! A big thank you to the children in 4th class who put on a wonderful performance of 'The Passion', the story of how Jesus died on the cross. They worked so hard over the past few weeks and it all paid off today. Well done to all the children and their teachers, Ms Gallagher, Mr Walsh and Mr O' Dowd and to the 3rd class children for helping with the singing, It was a very enjoyable performance. Representatives from the Junior Safety Forum visited TU Bolton Street in Dublin city centre last Wednesday to see how vapes are taken apart and how the different components can be recycled.
The children started the day with a brainstorming activity on the impact of vapes in the community. They visited labs to see how recyclable materials are used in new product design. They finished off the day designing and making a product that would reduce vape waste and be beneficial to the community. St. Ronan's had great success in the North Clondalkin quiz. On 24th February, our 5th and 6th class teams competed and the 6th class brought home the gold! The four 6th class children answered questions on geography, science, history and books and eventually won a tight tie breaker. The 6th class students will go on to test their skills in Tallaght library in March where they will face many more schools from South Dublin. We wish them luck. The 5th class tried their hardest and finished fifth in their first Library quiz.
Safer Internet Day took place on February 10th. the children took part in colouring competitions and Poster competitions. Congratulations to the winners picked in each class and well done to all who took part!
