The children in 5th class went on a fabulous trip to Bray on Monday, February 24th. The children enjoyed a day in the sun playing in the playground, on the beach, as well as playing football in the green area. We would like to say a huge thank you to Alan from Dublin bus for taking us to and from Bray. The children in 4th class went on a wonderful trip to Dublin City Centre on Feb. 11th. They first visited the National Museum of Ireland, where they were fascinated by the amazing historical pieces from all over Ireland. After that, they visited the Garda Museum where they were taken through a timeline of the history of the Gardai. Finally, we ended the trip in St. Stephens Green Park. A wonderful day was had by all. We would like to say a big thank you to Alan, from Dublin Bus, for taking us to and from the city. Safer Internet Day took place on February 11th. As part of the activities, the children from 3rd to 6th took part in a competition where they designed a poster to show how they can be safe on the internet and the positive and negative aspects of the internet. Well done to all on the wonderful designs, it was not easy to pick just one winner from each class.
Garda Séan, the local Community Garda, called in for a chat with the 5th and 6th class children about this topic also. The Accellerated Reading awards ceremony took place this month. There were three awards per class for the children in 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th classes.
The three awards were: Most Books Read, Most Words Read and the Most Improved. Huge congratulations to our winners seen below. |
