We had the parents and grandparents in our Junior Infant class today to help the children with an art activity. The activity was based on the book "How to Babysit a Grandad", which the children received in their Clover Pack along with "Ten in a Bed". There was great excitement and they all had a blast. There is a photo of final products.
We are learning about Spring in class. We learned about the life cycle of the frog and made some Spring art. In Aistear, the children are working in a Garden centre.
The children from Junior and Senior Infants participated in St. Ronan's first witches walk. The first and second classes completed the Monster Mile Plus Challenge. (Parents, Grandparents, Teachers, SNAs, children, everyone!) We have a Secret Project and we want your help! Please knit patches in any colour you wish. We suggest 40 stitches 40 rows but any size will work. Drop them in Ms. Hassett in room 8. Thank you! The children in Junior Infants have completed all of their initial sounds and they are beginning to blend so that they can read words. Below are examples of how you can practice this skill at home with your child. We want to wish a very warm welcome to all our junior infant students and their families. We hope your time here in St. Ronan's will be happy and enjoyable! |
