Students from fifth class were given the opportunity to create and design some artwork and crafts for the SEED organic school garden at the Bord Bia Bloom festival held in the Phoenix Park. They were then invited to attend the festival where they received a guided tour of the completed school garden and the festival. This was an amazing opportunity and the children had a fantastic experience. They even managed to bump into President Michael D. Higgins.
Three officers from our Green School Committee and Ms. Conlon attended a ceremony in The Helix, DCU to collect our sixth Green Flag for Global Citizenship Litter and Waste, which we had spent the last two years working to receive. An extra dimension to the Global Citizenship theme had been added this year. The best schools were picked out for a special celebration and we were chosen as Regional Winners for the Dublin Region and a top ten finalist in the National Competition. At the ceremony we were very proud to receive the news that we had been awarded the prestigious title of NATIONAL GLOBAL CITIZENSHIP SCHOOL OF THE YEAR 2019. The children were awarded another trophy and a cash prize for the school. A huge congratulations to all the officers, students and teachers on the committee and to all the students, staff and parents in the school on this fantastic achievement. A whole school celebration will take place on flag raising day.
Congratulations to all the participants in the European Week against Racism Art competition. St. Ronan's NS received a huge amount of entries, all of a very high standard. We had a record amount of winning entries and those children attended a special awards ceremony in SDCC where they received their prizes.

The Clean and Green Team as well as some students from Fifth class have been busy planting new flowers and cleaning up the garden area in the Main School Area. The Committee organised a green day on Friday 1st of February in order to raise funds to go towards the installation of a sensory garden in our School Garden. The total raised was €356.88 . Thanks to all students for their contribution.
Well done to all the people who put in entries to our competition this year. We had 38 different art-works this year and they were wonderful. A big team of judges picked out the following 8 projects which were sent on to the S.D.D.C competition. They will be on display in The County Hall in Tallaght.
