Earlier this month, Nicole, Mr O’Donoghue and Ms Gillen took six of our pupils to visit schools in Poggio a Caiano, Florence in Italy. Over 2 days, we were given a tour of their 3 schools which has children from 3 years up to 14 years old. Our hosts Luna and Ilenia also brought us to Medici Villa which is the historic holiday Villa of the Medici family. We enjoyed a lesson in one of their classes and listened to a song they had learned especially for us in their music class! In our free time, we visited Pisa and took a trip up the tower. We also made sure to visit they main sights of Florence and eat as much pizza and gelato as possible! On our trip home to Dublin, we stopped at Bologna for a bit of shopping. On our trip, we met very nice people and had great fun! In July 2025: Connie, Liz, Nicole and Sandra took
part in an Erasmus course in Sicily, Italy. The course centered around a Mediteranean healthy lifestyle and promoted cooking meals using ingredients that are unprocessed. They experienced the Sicilian traditions of preparing a meal in which the whole family gets involved. They also visited markets where fresh fruit, vegetables and fish are sold daily. In December 2025, Ms. Gallagher, Ms. White and Ms. Byrne accompanied six 6th class children on a visit to a school in Olhão, Portugal. The children spent 2 days visiting the school, where they experienced school life in Portugal and got to compare the difference to their experiences here in Ireland. Our free time was spent exploring the beautiful sights of Olhão, as well as the nearby Faro and Culatra Island. Christmas in the sun was fun!
